Welcome to my Blog on everything education in the 21st Century.

My name is Crystal Caton, and I have created this blog to share my journey through navigating the best way to educate our 21st century learners. I hope that through my journey I will give my fellow educators not only ideas to incorporate into their teaching but also the courage to go against the norm so that they can provide what our students need to prepare them for the world that they will grow and work in.

A little about me:

• I am a mum to 2 beautiful children Miss 6 and Master 2 and wife to my husband Shaun.
• I am a secondary teacher trained in Mathematics and Science
• I am currently the Head of Department for Mathematics at a Queensland State School
• I have previously been a Head of Department for Science, Maths, ICT, Technology over various positions.

Overall I still consider myself to be relatively new to the position of teaching however in my position find myself required to lead those that have far more experience than me and suggest the course of action that will see the best results for our students. It is my belief as an educator and teacher that all we do should be for the benefit for the students that we teach and I reflect on this with each new endeavour that I embark on.
